What this test is
Thrombin is added to plasma and the time to clot formation is measured. A longer time may reflect low fibrinogen, thrombin inhibitors or thrombolytic drugs.

Thromboplastin Time (TT)
TT measures the final step of clotting, when fibrinogen becomes fibrin. It detects fibrinogen abnormalities and monitors some anticoagulant treatments.
