What this test is
The immunochemical method (FIT) detects human haemoglobin in stool. It is specific to lower gastrointestinal bleeding and is not affected by diet or vitamin C, unlike older chemical tests.

Stool Occult Blood
A stool occult blood test detects small amounts of blood invisible to the eye. It screens for colorectal cancer risk and other causes of gastrointestinal bleeding.
